The First Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviñohas acknowledged that there is “uncertainty” regarding what will happen in the fall at the international economic level, although he has defended that Spain has a situation of “relative strength” to face the challenges that come.

We do not know if there will be a gas cut and we do not know how the German economy will evolvethat is why we are already taking measures to try to prevent this from slowing down economic growth and job creation,” said the Government’s economic minister in an interview on the program ‘Al Rojo Vivo’ on La Sexta, collected by Europa Press .

Faced with this “very turbulent” international scenario, the vice-president assured that Spain continues to maintain strong growth. “There is a lot of uncertainty and the tectonic plates on which international relations have been developing since the end of World War II are moving and the playing field and the position of different actors are changing,” he said.

In this regard, he recalled that all national and international organizations agree that economic growth in Spain will be at least 4% this year and 2% in 2023. “In other words, we have strong growth,” he stressed.

In fact, with the data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) last week of the first semester, which reflect a growth of more than 6% compared to last year, That figure of 4% has practically already been reached for the year as a whole, according to Calviño.

“In a complex and uncertain scenario, all organizations expect Spain to continue to maintain strong growth above the European average”, he remarked.
