Study shows success of bio-bubble protocol in football matches in Qatar. Not a single player tested positive for the virus in the tournaments held during the Covid era. The study gives a lot of confidence to the World Cup organizers. Various tournaments held in Qatar with and without spectators during the severe spread of Covid have been studied.

During the six-month period from November 2020 to April 2021, international competitions such as the FIFA Club World Cup, AFC Champions League and the Emir Cup final were held in Qatar. The matches were conducted with 30 percent admission for spectators. According to a report published in the Qatar Medical Journal

The study was based on RTPCR results. Of the 12,250 results, 3,158 people were in the biobubble, of which only a handful tested positive for Covid. The test positivity rate is 0.15 percent. It is considered a success of the bio bubble system that even after playing 44 matches, not a single player was infected with the virus. More than 10,000 Covid tests were conducted among the spectators for the AFC Champions League final, and only one tested positive. These studies give great confidence to the organizers as they stand at the threshold of the World Cup
