Bengaluru: The serial murder case that shocked the Karnataka police has come to an end. Two murders, the victims were sex workers. When the accused were caught, they were preparing for the next murder. Information about a third murder came out during the interrogation. The accused suitors revealed a story of revenge.

Siddalingappa (35), a native of Kudur in Ramnagar district, and his girlfriend Chandrakala were arrested by the Special Investigation Team. The arrest was made in connection with the discovery of the beheaded bodies of two women on June 7.

Until a few years ago, Chandrakala was working as a sex worker. It was during this time that he became acquainted with Siddalingappa. The intimacy grew and fell in love and Chandrakala ended sex work. However, Chandrakalak had an unquenchable revenge on those who brought her into sex work. This was told to Siddalinga and the two planned the murders together.

On June 7, the dead bodies of the women were found in Arakere and K Battanahalli. One was in the lake and one was dumped in a sack in a canal. The police came to the conclusion that there is a connection between the two bodies found at a distance of 25 km. Both bodies were beheaded to avoid identification.

45 policemen were appointed in nine teams to investigate the case. Information about all the women who have recently gone missing in the state has been collected. The team has collected information about 1116 missing women in Karnataka and neighboring states. Analyzing this information and identifying the victims was a painstaking task.

The police found that the details of the missing woman from Chamarajanagar were similar to that of one of the victims. He went to their house and checked and confirmed that it was the woman who had been killed. When their mobile phone was tracked, it was found that they were traveling from Mysuru to Mandya. When the call details were checked, details of several persons including those of the accused were obtained. Then on Thursday, the police arrested Siddalinga from Bengaluru. He was working in a fabrication firm in Peenia. The information behind the murder came out during the interrogation.

Siddhamma and Parvati were killed by Siddhalinga and Chandrakala. Chandrakalak had a grudge against both of them who forced him to commit sexual acts. Concealing this, both were invited to Chandrakala’s rented house in Mysuru on June 5. Here, both the accused would suffocate them to death and leave the dead bodies by removing their heads.

During interrogation, the accused said that a woman named Kumuda was also killed in a similar manner. They stole their jewelery and shifted to a new rented house. He was caught by the police here.

The accused also revealed that they had planned to kill five more people. Both were caught while preparing to kill the next person.

Mausuru South Zone IG Praveen Madhukar Pawar said that a reward of Rs 1 lakh will be given to the police team that arrested the accused.
