Aamir Khan has attracted Tamil fans since the film ‘Lagaan’ which was released in 2001 and reached all over India. Then he became the talk of the nation with the film ‘Taare Zameen Par’. On the one hand, Aamir Khan has made his screen life vibrant by producing and acting in quality films, on the other hand, he has a habit of acting in commercial films.

Having cemented his association with Tamil cinema by starring in the Hindi remake of ‘Ghajini’, ‘Three Idiots’, which was released in Tamil before being remade as ‘Nanban’, won a place in the hearts of Tamil fans as a Hindi film. After that, the films ‘PK’ and ‘Thangal’ were well received in Tamil Nadu as well. ‘Thangal’ was also dubbed in Tamil and released and was a box office hit. In this case, he has come back after 6 years to meet the Tamil fans with the Tamil dubbed version of the film ‘Lal Singh Satta’, which he acted in and produced in association with Viacom 18.

The film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan opposite Aamir Khan, along with Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in lead roles. Pritam has composed the music for the film, which has cinematography by Satyajith Pandey. They have recreated the Hollywood story film ‘Forrest Gump’, which was released in 1994 and won the box office and Oscar awards, with an Indian character. Atul Kulkarni has penned the screenplay and Advait Chandan has directed the film. The film is being released across Tamil Nadu by Udayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies. Aamir Khan then attended a press conference in Chennai. Udhayanidhi Stalin along with the film crew also participated in it. Speaking on behalf of Red Giant Movies, Udayanidhi Stalin said:

“When I was in school, I used to ‘cut’ the class and watch Aamir Khan’s ‘Rangeela’. To that extent I am a fan of Aamir Khan. Red Giant Movies releases at least two movies every month. Although we have tried many times to avoid this, we continue to release quality films for our friends in the film industry. At that moment they contacted us to release Lal Singh Sadha’s film in Tamil which was being produced by Aamir Khan. We thought we’d say no to it at first. Tamil movies are enough. We also thought we don’t want Hindi movies.

Suddenly, one day Aamir Khan contacted him on video call and asked him to release the film Lal Singh Sadha. I agreed right away. After that we watched the whole movie. The movie is even better than what it looked like in the preview. Aamir Khan has once again proved that he is a dedicated actor in this film. We are using the term pan India a lot now. But Aamir Khan introduced it twenty years ago and it was successful. Tamil fans will also welcome the film in a big way,” he said.

Speaking about the film’s director Advait Chandan, “’Forest Gump’ is a masterpiece. It has metamorphosed to suit our soil and culture as ‘Lal Singh Satta’. The opportunity to direct it is also a gift from Aamir Khan. Screenwriter Atul Kulkarni’s work is not easy. This work would not have been completed without the contributions of Aamir Khan, Ajith Andre, Monosingh, Naga Chaitanya etc. When I visited Chennai and watched the preview of this movie in Tamil, it was like a new movie, it gave me a new experience.”

Naga Chaitanya

Actor Naga Chaitanya said, “I am also born and brought up in Chennai. It has been a long time since I visited Chennai. I feel happy and proud to have come to Chennai for ‘Lal Singh Satta’. This film is an important part of my artistic journey. I learned a lot as an actor from this film. This is a movie that needs to be seen in theatres,” he said.

Finally when hero Aamir Khan speaks: “First of all my thanks to Udhayanidhi Stalin who agreed to release ‘Lal Singh Satta’ all over Tamil Nadu after asking you to release it. This film positively conveys what every citizen should follow to succeed in life. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this work. I think this work will appeal to fans from all walks of life.”

Aamir Khan has already received two National Awards for Best Director and Best Producer and ‘Special Men’ National Awards (Certificate only) for his performances in two films ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ and ‘Rock’. It is the expectation of his fans that this time ‘Lal Singh Chadha’ will get him the National Award for Best Actor which he missed twice.
