It is also reported that the joint crews of the MiG-29 fighters performed interceptions of low-speed low-flying air targets. The pilots carried out maneuvering in the air, including combat turns, climb in an ascending spiral with a decrease in flight speed and the subsequent designation of the target attack.
In addition, takeoffs and landings were worked out in pairs, as well as offensive and defensive-offensive tactics during the drawing of close maneuver combat.

Recall that the tactical flight exercise “BARS-2021” was organized in accordance with the plan of international military cooperation. It involved about 10 units of aviation equipment of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Serbia. To solve training problems, joint crews of Russia and Serbia were formed on MiG-29 aircraft, Mi-8 and Mi-35 helicopters.
It should be borne in mind that in parallel with the “BARS-2021” in Serbia, another joint exercise was organized – “Slavic Shield – 2021”. It started last Thursday. To participate in it, Russian generals transferred a battery of Pantsir-S short-range air defense systems to the Batainitsa airbase. There, the crews of the joint group almost immediately took up combat duty for the air defense of Belgrade, the airbase and the central industrial region of Serbia.
The next stage of the exercise was the intensive maneuvering operations of anti-aircraft missile units and the deployment of their weapons and military equipment in the new positional area. For the first time, our and Serbian crews of “Pantsirey” worked out these tactics together.
As for the main goal of the exercise, as previously explained in the Russian Ministry of Defense, it is to create and use a joint air defense group to cover objects from terrorist threats from the air. In addition, the generals in Moscow and Belgrade are seeking to increase the level of coherence of command and control bodies and personnel in the joint performance of tasks. It is known that in the course of combat duty by a joint air defense grouping in this exercise, the practical actions of calculations will be worked out to repel massive air strikes of a simulated enemy in a difficult jamming situation.
Let us remind you that two years ago Russia was already deploying its air defense systems for training in Serbia. Then our military transport aircraft redeployed to another country a division of S-400 Triumph long-range anti-aircraft missile systems and a battery of Pantsir-S complexes.
