Avinasi: In Avinasi Agriculture Producers Cooperative Marketing Society (ACMS), the construction work of ‘e-trading’ (electronic commerce) center has started at a cost of Rs.1.13 crore. Among the seven Cooperative Marketing Societies in Tamil Nadu, The government has allowed and allocated funds to carry out trade activities in the ‘e-trading’ mode. In the Avinasi Agricultural Producers Cooperative Sales Society based on cotton auction, 1.13 crore rupees have been allocated to carry out this. The construction of the building for this purpose has started. According to the administrators of the association, in the newly constructed building, necessary equipment for ‘e-trading’ operations including computers will be installed and technical arrangements will be made to inform the farmers about the price and quantity of the cotton auction on the computer screen and to send the relevant information to the farmers’ mobile numbers. ; This work will be completed in six months. More than 22,000 farmers from many places in the state like Avinasi, Satti, Gopi, Tarapuram, Erode are members of this association. They sell the cotton they produce through this association; Cotton auction is held every week on Wednesday.
