Pathanamthitta: Mother’s friend arrested for sexually assaulting minor girl in Pathanamthitta. Ananthu Anilkumar, a native of Ranni Thottaman, was arrested. The accused was produced in court and remanded.
The complaint is that the accused has been molesting a sixteen-year-old girl for the past one and a half years. Sixteen-year-old Kari and her mother lived in a rented house in Pathanamthitta. The boy’s father left him years ago. The accused had started staying with them a few days ago. On the 5th of last month, the accused Ananthu physically injured the girl. The information about the harassment came to light when the complaint reached the police station. The police registered a case based on the statement of the girl. The suspect was taken into custody during the investigation. The accused was taken into custody under the leadership of Pathanamthitta Control Room Sub-Inspector Madhu. The girl was left in the care of Child Line workers.

The man who allegedly raped a 10th class girl in Kollam Kadakkal was arrested. Sujith, a native of Kilimanoor Chengikunn, was arrested by Kadaikal police.
Sujith met a 14-year-old girl from Kadaikal at her relative’s house. Later fell in love over the phone. He tortured a fourteen-year-old girl by taking her to different places with the promise of marriage. The family questioned the 14-year-old when they found out that the young man was going out with the girl. Then the information about the torture came out. Medical examination revealed that the girl was a victim of unnatural violence.
Sujith was arrested by the Katakal police who filed a case on the family’s complaint. The accused was brought to Kilimanoor and Channapetta and evidence was taken. The accused was produced in the court under the POCSO section and remanded.
