CHENNAI: Chief Minister M.K. said that those who sell drugs should be arrested and their assets should be frozen. Stalin said.

“Tamil Nadu, which is generally progressing in all sectors, should not grow in negative things like drugs that degrade the society,” he warned.

Anti-Drug Awareness Day is being observed on August 11 every year by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

In this context, the Chief Minister held an Alo Sana yesterday with all District Collectors and Superintendents of Police regarding the elimination of drugs including ganja and gutka in Tamil Nadu.

Speaking at that time, the Chief Minister mentioned that the day by day increase in drug circulation in Tamil Nadu is worrying and said, “Drugs are not only a problem of the individual who uses them; It is a social issue,” he said.

“These drugs must be stopped from entering, spreading and selling in our state. People who are addicted to this should be rescued and guided. Now even a new person should protect the youth society without leaning towards material things. A joint effort is necessary for this,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that it is very important to ensure that drugs are not sold near schools and colleges.

“Only if we all stop this social evil together we can make Tamil Nadu a drug free state.

“Besides that, parents should monitor whether their children are resorting to drugs,” he advised.

Even though there is less drug traffic in Tamil Nadu than Gujarat, Punjab and Maharashtra, we cannot make peace with this. Of all things, Tamil Nadu, which is growing, should not grow into negative things like drug addiction; Don’t let it grow.
