In the first match of the 3-match ODI series that followed, Bangladesh posted 303/2 with Tamim Ifhal 62, Liton Das 81, Anamal 73 and Mustafizur Rahman 52*. Chasing it, Zimbabwe stumbled to 62/3 as key batsmen Chakabwa 2, Musakanda 4, Matheware 19 got out for few runs.

Chasing Zimbabwe, Marumani 25, Kaithino 0, Innocent Gaya 7, Matheware 2 failed again as the top order batsmen collapsed to 49/4. 3. The 3-series man-of-the-match winner is the first time in international cricket that Zimbabwe has become the dark horse to record 3 consecutive series wins. He has also set a new record as the Zimbabwean player who has won the most consecutive man of the match awards in international cricket. That list:
