Police arrested a local police constable who was involved in fraud through QR code at a restaurant in Chennai.

Anand (32) hails from Chennai’s Okkyam Duraipakkam area and runs a restaurant in the same area. Paytm QR has been driven to summer shops to collect money from customers. For a few days, the customers paid after eating but did not get into his bank account. Suspicious, Ananda filed a complaint at the Kannagi Nagar police station. On a complaint, the Kannagi Nagar police, with the help of the cyber crime police, traced the bank account into which the money went, and it was revealed that Sridhar was from Kannagi Nagar.

When Sridhar was brought to the police station and interrogated, it was revealed that he was working in the home guard force at Thiruvanmiyur police station and had prepared a fake identity card as if he was working in the police force with the aim of earning money easily.

Based on this, he bought a QR code called Bharat Pay and without the knowledge of the shop owner, stuck it on the QR code and engaged in fraud. Similarly QR has been posted in all 7 stores. After confiscating the QR code sticker from him, the police arrested him, registered a case, produced him in court and imprisoned him.
