Ninet in a new collaboration, which cannot fail to succeed

Flash 90

Ninet in collaboration with Infected Mashrum, the most successful Israeli band in the world, in a remake of the legendary rock hit “Black Velvet”, by Elena Miles from 1989. The original song won the music awards of the Juno and Grammy ceremonies, and was dedicated to Elvis Presley as the king of rock’n’roll.

The trio – Ninet and the duo of Infected Mashrum – turned the iconic original into a renewed electronic rock version, and the result kicks.

“When the corona started, we built two separate studios in our two houses” says Dovdevani. “I wanted to cover a song from the 90s and when I was looking for ideas with my wife “Black Velvet” really stood out.

I could imagine how I wanted it to sound in our style. I updated Erez with the idea just as his mother was visiting him in the US, and she said it was her favorite song.

Erez and I started working on it with Yossi Mizrahi, our new guitarist, who is also Ninet’s husband. Even before he proposed, my idea was that Ninette would take part in the song because her voice and atmosphere are perfect for the song. During the Corona period we lived together in Los Angeles and became very close, Ninet and Yossi became a family.

The new song is another piece that connects to the puzzle of the album, which also consists of trance, psy-trance and of course final collaborations with other amazing artists and bands. It’s one of our favorite songs on the album and I can’t wait for you to hear it.”
