Mark Kansian, a senior adviser at the center, said the good news is that in all scenarios, Taiwan remains independent, but the price may be high. “The US and Taiwan usually succeed in keeping the island away from Chinese occupation, but the price is very high – losses of hundreds of aircraft, aircraft carriers, and terrible destruction to the Taiwanese economy as well as to the Chinese navy and navy,” he said.
In one of the more pessimistic scenarios, the American side will lose 900 fighter and attack aircraft within four weeks, an amount equivalent to half of the fighter aircraft of the US Air Force and Navy, according to the assessment of the London “Times”. However, Kansian adds that “I would say that in most scenarios, the Chinese navy suffers a lot more.”
