The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) had stated that the sale of tickets will start on the 15th, but it did not specify what time the sale would start, causing confusion. This is what caused fans to throng the site at 12 o’clock in the night. Around seven lakh people visited the site simultaneously for tickets. A queue system was also introduced on the website to reduce congestion. After the site crashed, even those who waited in the online queue for six to three hours did not get their tickets. It was also a problem that many people lost money for the ticket but did not receive the ticket by e-mail.
At the same time, the authorities have made it clear that strict action will be taken against those who buy tickets in bulk and sell them in huge amounts. The tournament, which was supposed to be held in Sri Lanka, was shifted to the UAE last month due to internal problems in Sri Lanka.
