Aussie former fast bowling great Glenn McGrath has heaped praise on Indian team’s young fast bowler Umran Malik.

Umran Malik is the fastest bowler in IPL. He bowled an assault at over 150 kmph and screamed at the opposition players. He bowls consistently over 150 kmph and terrorizes the batsmen. Umran Malik bowled 157 kmph in IPL season 15, the 2nd fastest ball of the season. Lockie Ferguson bowled Umran Malik at 157.3 kmph in the final.
Umran Malik was included in the Indian team for the T20 series against South Africa as a result of his impressive bowling in the IPL. In that series, he hit a record at 163.7 kmph in net practice. This is faster than Akhtar’s fastest ball (161.3) in international cricket. But he could not be included in the international cricket record because he threw in practice instead of in the competition field.

He has taken 2 wickets in 3 T20 matches for India so far. Umran Malik has impressed the cricketers of today with his fast bowling. Former fast bowling greats are particularly fond of bowlers who bowl good pace.

That’s how Umran Malik impressed Glenn McGrath. Speaking about Umran Malik, Glenn McGrath said, “I haven’t seen much of Umran Malik’s bowling. But I was fascinated by the high speed. The specialty is to throw at a good pace. Can’t be taught to fly more than 150 kmph. It should all come naturally. A bowler who can bowl more than 150 kmph is rare. But McGrath advised that he should also focus on accuracy.
