The All India Inter College Basketball Tournament started yesterday in Tuticorin. Chennai and Kerala teams won in this.
Basketball match
Tuticorin District Basketball Association and Gymkhana Club jointly organized the All India Intercollegiate DMP. The electronic basketball tournament for the trophy was held at Tuticorin Gymkhana Club. 8 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams from different states are participating in this tournament.
The opening ceremony was held yesterday evening. District Collector Senthilraj presided over the function and started the competitions. Basketball club president VVT Brahmanandam, secretary Balamurugan, district sports officer Rathinaraj, and Zoprakash among others participated in the function.
Chennai win
In the first match in the women’s category, Chennai MOP. Vaishnav College team and Kerala St Joseph’s College team played. Chennai Vaishnav College won the match with a score of 56-48.
Srikerala Verma College team and Chennai Satyabama University team played in men’s category. In this, the Kerala team won easily with the score of 63-40. The matches will continue till the 20th.
