Mediation in Kalanidhi Maran-SpiceJet disputes: Supreme Court decides to consider

by time news

The Supreme Court will consider the request of Sun Group Chairman Kalanidhi Maran for mediation to find an amicable solution to all the issues between SpiceJet.

In 2020, the Delhi High Court heard a case related to the share transaction between Kalanithi Maran and his KAL airline, Spicejet. The Delhi High Court ordered SpiceJet to pay around Rs 243 crore as interest to the court in the share transaction dispute.

Against this order, SpiceJet filed an appeal in the Supreme Court. Hearing the petition, the Supreme Court stayed the order passed by the Delhi High Court.

The petition came up for hearing on Tuesday before the session headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana. Senior advocate Vikas Singh, who appeared on behalf of Kalanidhi Maran at that time, suggested that the parties can mediate between the two parties at the Hyderabad Mediation Center in Telangana to resolve all the issues including the share exchange between Kalanidhi Maran and SpiceJet. It was accepted by both parties.

The judges said that they would consider the request for mediation.
