CHENNAI: DMK members have doubts that it was Vijayakanth who came to the party office.
DMDK leader Vijayakanth is paralyzed at home due to ill health. Due to diabetes, he had three toes amputated. In this case, the day before yesterday, it was reported that Vijayakanth, who hoisted the flag at the party headquarters in Coimbatore, Chennai, was coming to the Independence Day ceremony. Volunteers gathered to see him. When Vijayakanth’s campaign vehicle reached there, the volunteers raised slogans.

From the campaign vehicle, Vijayakanth’s wife Premalatha was the first to show her head. He waved at the volunteers. Subsequently, Vijayakanth showed his head while sitting. He was wearing a face mask and goggles. His glasses slipped as he waved at the volunteers. Premalatha, having recovered, put glasses on him.
Then Premalatha pulled the rope to hoist the national flag. As he was unable to pull it, Deputy Secretary of State Parthasarathy pulled the flag. Taking off Vijayakanth’s face shield, Premalatha tried to feed him sweets.

No movement from Vijayakanth. Revived, Premalatha opened the face shield slightly, stuffed the sweet into her mouth and closed it. Even then, Vijayakanth made no move. Later, Vijayakanth’s campaign vehicle left for home. Due to this, the party has a suspicion that it is Vijayakantha who has come to the party office.
There are certain steps to follow for hoisting the national flag. But Premalatha hoisted the national flag as it was in the campaign vehicle and caused controversy.
