The women’s team of Gokulam Kerala FC is stuck in Uzbekistan following the ban imposed by FIFA on the Indian Football Federation. The team arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the AFC Cup starting on the 23rd. The Gokulam team has sent a letter to the Prime Minister asking him to intervene in the issue. The Supreme Court directed the central government to immediately intervene in the matter.

Sri Gokulam Kerala FC qualified for the Asian Football Federation Women’s Cup as the club champions of the country. The team left Kozhikode on the morning of the 16th for the matches starting on the 23rd in Khwarshi, Uzbek. According to the letter sent by the team to the Prime Minister, they learned about the FIFA ban after arriving in Tashkent. On the 16th, the Asian Football Confederation sent a letter to the All India Football Federation saying that they are not allowed to participate in the championship. The first match is against Iran on 23rd. The Supreme Court has directed the central government to take immediate action on the FIFA ban. The court also directed to take steps to conduct the Under-17 Women’s World Cup. The Center told the court that it had held discussions with FIFA twice. The case will be heard again on Monday.
