A particularly successful folding story? According to a report by Xiaomi, the sale of its new foldable phone, Mix Fold 2, launched in China lasted exactly 5 minutes – that’s how long it took for customers to purchase all available stock, at all price levels together.

Xiaomi did not specify how many units are involved, and also did not provide details regarding the division by price levels. In addition, it has not yet announced when it will replenish the stock – and whether it will try to turn it into a global success story.

On the outside, the Mix Fold 2 comes with a 6.5-inch screen with Samsung’s E5 AMOLED technology. It offers FHD+ resolution with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and with a protective cover in the form of Gorilla Glass Victus. The size of the internal screen is 8.2 inches with a 2.5K resolution and it also offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and with a 20-megapixel selfie camera below the screen.

The processor is Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the fingerprint sensor is located in the on/off button and on the back there are three cameras based on Leica lenses. The main camera is equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor. The wide-angle camera has a 13-megapixel sensor, and there is also a telephoto camera with an 8-megapixel sensor.

Xiaomi offered the Mix Fold 2 for sale at prices of about $1,325 for the 12/256 GB memory version, about $1,475 for the 12/512 GB version and about $1,770 for the 12/1,024 GB version.
