The Rishon LeZion Festival, the biggest music festival in Israel, is starting its 34th year. The festival, which will be held in Sukkot between October 11-15, will mark the celebration of the 140th anniversary of Rishon Lezion and the preservation of the diverse musical heritage with the participation of over 100 leading artists and creators.
As part of the celebrations for the 140th anniversary of Rishon LeZion, the festival will salute the nationalists who make up the Israeli soundtrack, in a huge variety of original productions and intriguing shows in unique combinations, in which over 100 artists and creators will participate:
The live park shows:
The leading original production that will open the festival will take place on 11.10 in Live Park, Rishon Lezion with “This is the same love”, a festive and one-time show dedicated to the late Eric Einstein, one of the greatest Israeli artists.
The show, made in collaboration with the Einstein family, will feature (in order from A-2): Esther Rada, Berry Sakharof, David D’Or, Dekla, Yuval Dayan, Yoni Rechter, Church of the Mind, Miki Gabrielov, Idan Amadi, Amir Banyon, Shira Gabrielov and Shlomi Shabbat. The late Einstein is the epitome of the story of Israeli music, from the military band through the “Gesher Yarkon Trio”, the “High Windows” to his solo career in which he collaborated with the greatest writers and musicians in Israel. He recorded hundreds of songs that were released on dozens of masterpiece albums, and which became an integral part from the Israeli soundtrack. In an evening that is entirely a unique original production for the festival, Einstein’s work will be celebrated, with a special emphasis on the songs he wrote. We will remember his best hits of all time with old friends who knew him closely, alongside young singers who did not get to work with him in his life, but were influenced The artists will be accompanied by the Israeli Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion under the direction of Ilan Mokhin, a group of musicians and video works in an evening full of love and longing for the man and his works.

After almost a decade of work, Yuval Dayan has become an integral part of the Israeli soundtrack and one of the most successful and respected singer-songwriters in Israel. Chava Elberstein in a new show accompanied by a fine ensemble, in which she combines from her rich repertoire alongside new songs.
After almost two quiet years under the auspices of the Corona virus, the new show, or rather the renewed one, was woven.
On stage is an ensemble that includes Chava, Eran Weitz (guitars and musical management) and two wonderful new friends, Maya Blazitzman (cello and vocals) and Matan Efrat (percussion and computer). The new composition paints the songs with sound and other colors, like cinematography. Songs that have not yet been performed on stage alongside those that have. A gentle acrobatics walk among Elberstein’s rich repertoire, which includes over 60 albums and hundreds of songs. Side by side we weave songs from then and now, about this country and distant places, about the personal and the collective – together they turn the evening into one human fabric.

Also at the Rishon Lezion Festival – on the occasion of the city’s 140th celebrations, this year there will be a tribute to the mythical “Wine Festival”. The tribute will take place in a unique complex built especially for the festival and will resemble the events of the Wine Festival. The complex will include a magnificent wine avenue where food stalls, local and imported beers, cocktails and more will be placed.
