Indian-origin author Salman Rushdie (age 75), was stabbed to death while attending a recent event in New York, USA. Injured Salman Rushdie survived after medical treatment.
His attacker, 24-year-old Hadi Matar, has been arrested. He has given an interview to the ‘New York Post’ magazine while he is being held in the Chautauqua County Jail. In it he says:-
“I was surprised when I heard that he survived. I have only read 2 pages of Rushdie’s controversial book. I don’t like him. I don’t think he is a good person.
I found out on Twitter that he was coming to Sautauqua and was inspired to go there. He has attacked Islam. I attacked him myself.”
