Washington: Gandhi’s statue near the temple was vandalized in New York. This is not the first time that a Gandhi statue has been vandalized in the US. The incident of vandalizing the statue of Gandhi took place on Tuesday morning. It is reported that the statue near Sri Tulasi temple was vandalized by six people. The police stated that hateful words were also written on the statue.
The police released the video footage of the incident. It is suggested that people between 25 and 30 years of age are behind the destruction of the statue. Later, footage of them escaping in vehicles has also emerged. In 2020, the Gandhi statue was vandalized twice in the US.
The vandalism of the Gandhi statue was reported in February and December. There were reports that Khalistanists were behind the destruction of the statue. In January last year too, the incident of vandalism of Gandhi statue was reported.
