CHENNAI: Due to the increase in private milk prices, the sale of milk has suddenly increased by 50,000 liters in a single week.

40 lakh liters of milk is procured from farmers across the state through Aavin’s company. Private companies have raised the price of milk twice this year. The cost of milk production has increased, which is attributed to this. Apart from this, 12 percent GST has been levied on butter and ghee and five percent on curd, lassi and buttermilk.
