New Delhi: The Gokulam Kerala women’s team will not be able to play in the AFC Champions League after the All India Football Federation has been banned by FIFA. This comes after FIFA and AFC rejected the letter sent by the Ministry of Sports requesting for an exemption.

The Gokulam women’s team was in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to play in the AFC Champions League when FIFA banned them. Gokulam, which has matches on the 23rd and 26th, remained there in the hope of getting permission to play. However, with FIFA and AFC rejecting the Sports Ministry’s request, Gokulam Kerala President V.C. Praveen informed. “We are trying to bring the disappointed players home as soon as possible,” he said.
