In one of the quarter-finals of the men’s singles yesterday night, the ‘number one’ player Daniil Medvedev (Russia) advanced to the semi-finals by defeating America’s Taylor Britz in a straight set 7-6 (7-1), 6-3. Seventh-seeded Tsitsipas (Greece) advanced to the semi-finals for the third time in a row by defeating American John Isner 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, 6-3. Similarly, England’s Cameron Norrie defeated Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (4-7), 6-4 and Croatia’s Borna Coric defeated Canada’s Felix Ajer Aliasim 6-4, 6-4 in straight sets. Defeated and qualified for the semi-finals.
Former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic) defeated American Madison Keys 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-3 in the women’s singles semifinal yesterday and entered the final. Another semi-final pits Caroline Garcia (France) against Sabalenka (Belarus).
