2 Ethiopian Airlines pilots fall asleep in flight

Ethiopian Airlines announced the suspension of the two pilots who would have fallen asleep during the landing maneuvers during a flight from Khartoum (Sudan) to Addis Ababa. According to sources from the portal ‘The Aviation Herald’, the pilots fell asleep during the flight and woke only when an autopilot disconnection alarm was activated. The plane managed to land 25 minutes later.

“The crew in question has been suspended pending further investigation,” the airline said in a statement collected by the Ethiopian state television network, Fana. “Appropriate corrective actions will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation. Safety has always been and will continue to be our first priority“added the airline.
