In the last two years, Applied Materials has recruited 600 new employees for its operations in Israel, and currently employs approximately 2,200 employees. This is what she reported today (A”) as part of the quarterly report of the global company. Applied Materials operates in Israel under the Process and Diagnostic Control – PDC division, which develops and manufactures equipment for diagnostics and process control in chip manufacturing plants. This division is the company’s largest R&D and production center outside the US, and is managed by Rafi Ben Ami.

The President and CEO of Applied Materials Global, Gary Dickerson, said in relation to PDC: “Our ability to optimize using solutions from the worlds of materials engineering alongside state-of-the-art testing and metrology systems drives forward record performance in Applied’s diagnostics and process control business. We expect the division’s revenues to increase by approximately 40% in fiscal year 2022, thanks to the widespread adoption of eBeam metrology and new optical platforms for testing silicon wafers.”

In the third quarter of Applied’s fiscal year, its sales grew by about 5% and amounted to about 6.52 billion dollars. In the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2022, Applied expects to generate net sales of approximately $6.65 billion, within a range of plus/minus $400 million. This amount includes the expected impact of the ongoing difficulties in the supply chain. Dickerson: “We posted record quarterly revenues, however, the ongoing supply chain constraints are limiting our ability to fully meet demand. We are confident in our ability to navigate even in a challenging macroeconomic period and believe in the strength of the semiconductor market in the long term and the growth opportunities that lie ahead of us.”
