Over 50 million downloads for an Android launcher that looks like iOS 16

One of the most popular applications for Android devices during the last week is a launcher that is a rather blatant imitation of the iOS 16 operating system, which is expected to be released for iPhone devices next month and is now available for download in a beta version. The launcher is named Launcher iOS 16, and is available to download for free, although it sometimes displays advertisements to fund its development.

After installation, Android users can expect an experience definitely similar to that of the operating system from Apple. This includes all the icons for the different apps, widgets with the same design as iOS 16, drop-down menus and list of apps, as well as various animations taken directly from the iPhone.

In fact, Launcher iOS 16 includes a number of customization options that do not exist in Apple’s original, such as more advanced tools for arranging the applications in the menu, the possibility to change the name of the applications that appear on the home screen, and also to determine the speed of the animations. However, one of the most prominent innovations in iOS 16, the new lock screen, is currently missing from the launcher and is not included in the package.

It seems that the developers of the aforementioned launcher make sure to update it every year to the latest design presented by Apple, at least for now without any legal entanglement regarding the violation of rights. It is possible that this will now change: the application has gained widespread viral distribution over the past few days and has gained no less than 50 million downloads, a figure that may certainly make the people of Apple’s legal department pay attention to its existence.
