It has been decided that now married women and mothers can compete for the title of Miss World. The historic decision will be implemented from next year itself. This means that in 2023, married women and women who are mothers can participate in the Miss Universe pageant. But the existing age limit will remain the same. Age limit is 18 to 28 years.

Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Mesa said she welcomed the new decision and said the previous policy was anti-feminist.
‘I am genuinely happy about it. Today is a time when women are taking leadership positions in all fields. Previously, these were all male-only opportunities. Society is changing. Now beauty pageants are changing to the point where women with families can also participate…’- Andrea Mesa said.
Until now, not only when competing for the title of Miss World, but also when the next Miss World is selected after winning the title, the winner did not have the opportunity to get married or get pregnant. Andrea Mesa called this policy anti-feminist.
“There is a section that is against the changes that have come now. All of them are interested in seeing good-looking single girls…’- Andrea Mesa said.
Contestants come from 160 countries and provinces around the world to compete for the title of Vishwasundari. In 2021, India’s Harnas Sandhu won the Vishwasundari title. Twenty-two-year-old Harnaz hails from Punjab.
