course reduction for the first stage

by time news

Given the current pace of the boats, the race director has decided to shorten the course of the first leg.

At 7 p.m., during the safety session, the race director of La Solitaire, Yann Château, announced by VHF to the entire fleet that a reduction in the course had been decided. The weather conditions are announced to be very calm for the end of the first stage. The arrival was scheduled for Thursday morning. The 34 competitors will therefore not go as far as the Skokholm Island buoy but will have to round a mark near Lundy Island off the coast of Wales. The initial course of 644 miles is therefore reduced to 559 miles.
