The court sentenced director Lingusamy to six months imprisonment

CHENNAI: The court sentenced director Lingusamy and his brother Subash Chandra to six months imprisonment. The punishment is in a case filed by production company PVP Capital. The case was that the borrowed money was not returned. Both were sentenced by the Saidapet court.

Lingusamy had borrowed money from PVP Capital to make a film starring Karthi and Samantha. The incident happened a few years ago. But the film did not happen. Although the film was shelved, Linguswamy did not return the borrowed money to PVP Capitals.

Lingusamy’s check to PVP Capitals bounced. It was in this situation that the company lodged a complaint against Lingusamy and his brother. Lingusamy is planning to file an appeal in the Madras High Court after the verdict in the case is unfavorable and there is a court order to return the money borrowed from the PVP company with interest.

The money was taken from the PVP company to make a film called ‘Yenni Yehu Naal’ with Karthi and Samantha. Linguswamy borrowed Rs.1 crore and three lakh. After the film was stalled, a check of 35 lakhs was given to the company to repay the borrowed money, but it bounced.

Lingusamy made his directorial debut in 2001 with Mammootty’s family film Anandam. His other films are Run, Sandakozhi, Paiya, Vettai, Bhima, Anjaan, Sandakozhi 2 and The Warrior. Linguswamy’s last film was ‘The Warrior’. But this film was not a big success financially.
