Varalakshmi has released three films this year, including Poikal Kuthirai. All Tamil movies. He has eight films in various stages of production in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. Varalakshmi, who made her Malayalam debut with the Mammootty starrer Kasaba, has also acted in Kat and Masterpiece.
