Virudhunagar: For the first time in Virudhunagar district, transgenders have been given appointment orders for the posts of Head and Assistant of Panchayat Resource Center. Through the Department of Rural Development, the District Panchayat Resource Center is working with the staff of Head and Assistant to provide training on government schemes and website to local representatives and employees in panchayats.
For the first time in Tamil Nadu, Minister Chatur Ramachandran gave appointment orders to Transgender B. Charanya as Head and G. Ramyasree as Resource Center Assistant. Collector Meghanathareddy, DRO, Ravikumar and others participated. This is also the first time that transgenders from Virudhunagar district are taking charge of government jobs.
