Rothschild Art Gallery is honored to present Yehuda Armoni’s third solo exhibition at the gallery, “Behold, all the green has blossomed.” The exhibition will feature dozens of small landscape paintings, most of which were painted “at the first stroke”, alongside some larger and longer oil paintings.

From the text of the exhibition written by Dr. Katsia Alon:
” The characteristic composition of Armoni is the composition open to infinity, like the landscape itself. It is clear to us that we are only seeing a small section of the unfolded landscape, a cross-section of what unfolded before the painter’s eyes. The illusion is so great that we seem to turn our eyes away, and the landscape will continue as it is, and will not be cruelly cut by the given size of the canvas.”
In his book ‘New Realism in Contemporary Israeli Painting’, David Graves dedicated a beautiful chapter to Armoni’s work. He traces his painterly path that began at a late age, after a successful and long career in the high-tech worlds, and claims that this special location gives him both the advantages of a young artist passionate about the field, literally, and the mental maturity of a mature artist… Graves misleads that Armoni tries to finish the painting ‘with the first stroke’ in the open air, in the French ‘planaire’ tradition. This method puts the painter in front of a lot of very fast, decisive painting decisions, which he is forced to make in a short period of time. Many of Armoni’s small format paintings betray this speed and intensity. Graves also defines Armoni as a painter whose main artistic strength is the ability to create an impressive and sophisticated Orzel, and as someone who is less concerned with color – the chiaroscuro artist, not a colorist.’
Armoni studied at the “Station” school and graduated from the master class at JSS, in 2017 he presented a solo exhibition at the Castell Museum, in 2019 an exhibition at the CACR.
