Gender Specific Software

Many women experience complaints of which it is not clear whether they are an expression of heart failure. It is therefore difficult to determine when they should contact their GP. And because the complaints are unclear, a diagnosis is often missed or made too late. The IMPRESS+ study aims to improve diagnosis and treatment, among other things by implementing gender-specific choice software within existing (hospital) systems and using it in the process of joint decision-making.

The decision aid was developed during a hackathon at the UMC Utrecht on almost seven thousand patients who underwent coronary angiography. The aid is intended to use expensive, time-consuming and patient-intensive research more efficiently. The researchers are working together with the start-up MEDxAI on the further development of the software.
