Headache and anger; mood swings; mother who killed her children with an iron pipe tried to commit suicide

A mother tried to commit suicide after beating her two sons to death with an iron pipe. Baby Revathi (39), wife of Kanakasampath at Atthampalayam in Tirupur Vellakovil, Tamil Nadu, tried to commit suicide by consuming poison after killing her children Harshita (13) and Kalaivendan (7).

The incident took place after Harshita and Kalaivendan, students of a private school in Vellakoil, returned from school on Tuesday evening. During the search conducted after the disappearance of the three, the children were found with severe head and face injuries in the area where the materials were stored in the farm, and Revathi, who was crippled by poisoning, was found nearby.

For the past four months, Revathi was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Coimbatore for severe headaches. It is said that Revathi used to get extremely angry and behave as if she was deranged when she was having headaches. Yesterday evening, when her husband went to the Kanakasampath shop, Revathi was going to the farm near the house with her two children. It is reported that after going to the room where the materials were kept, Revathi drank poison after beating the children to death with an iron pipe.

As the room was locked from inside, her husband Kanakasampath broke the asbestos ceiling and entered. Then all three were admitted to Kankeyam Government Hospital. After examination by doctors, the children were confirmed dead. Revathi has been admitted to a private hospital in Coimbatore, where a case of murder has been filed.
