Russia’s war against Ukraine has passed 6 months. This war, which started on February 24, has affected many parties, including civilians and soldiers in Ukraine.

Buildings including educational institutes, houses and commercial complexes have collapsed. The war drags on. The initial negotiations between the two parties also ended in failure.

In the war in Ukraine, women and children are suffering the most. From time to time there were allegations that girls and women were sexually assaulted by Russian soldiers.

The UN’s International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has lamented that children are more affected than adults by this war.

Amid the war against Ukraine, President Putin has ordered an increase of 1.37 million soldiers in the Russian army. With this, the total number of soldiers will increase to 11.5 lakh.

Putin’s order to increase the size of the Russian army will take effect on January 1. However, it is not specified whether recruitment will be in large numbers at the officer level or increase in the number of soldiers joining the force voluntarily or both.

The increase in the number of soldiers will increase the total strength of the Russian army to 20.39 lakh. 11.50 lakh of them will be armed forces personnel.

In a press release issued by the government, only self-willed contract-based soldiers will take part in it and it has been stated that it is a special military operation in Ukraine.

In addition, Russian media reported that even some prisoners have been invited to join the army as part of their military service.
