Back from the left: EELV, PS, PC, LFI … to each his university and his “Nupe moments”

by time news

A homecoming for everyone, but with an open door to visiting friends. The four components of Nupes, the left-wing coalition set up before the legislative elections, are organizing this weekend, in dispersed order and almost simultaneously, their summer universities. But, all have spared “Nupe moments”, inviting some allies to their respective meetings. This Thursday, at the Summer Days of Ecologists, in Grenoble (Isère) – where we saw the LFI deputy François Ruffin in the afternoon – the rebellious MEP Manon Aubry, the rebellious deputy Adrien Quatennens, the door PS spokesperson, Dieynaba Diop, and PC senator Cécile Cukierman were to participate in a Nupes evening.

Among the Insoumis, at the Amfis de Valence (Drôme), we could see this Thursday the number 2 of the PS, Pierre Jouvet, and the leader EELV Hélène Hardy, who will be imitated this Friday by the PS deputy Arthur Delaporte and the ecologist Sandrine Rousseau. Same kindness at the PS campus in Blois (Loir-et-Cher), where the ex-ecologist presidential candidate Yannick Jadot but also the LFI deputies Alexis Corbière and Clémentine Autain will pass a head. And at the PC summer university in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin), this Friday, a debate on pensions will bring together the socialist Laurent Baumel and the LFI deputy Aurélie Troussel alongside Fabien Roussel.

“It’s display”

“We had considered joint days, but it was not technically feasible, underlines the number one of EELV, Julien Bayou. We therefore imagined these decentralized Nupes to materialize this coalition to which we are very attached. “But in private, these cross invitations sometimes make people cringe. “It’s display, because everyone wanted to keep control of their event, sighs an eco-friendly executive. We overplay the relationship of trust to reduce our divisions. »

Among the stumbling blocks of recent days: the European elections of 2024. The Insoumis are for the constitution of a common Nupes list when the vast majority of environmentalists do not want to hear about it. “We may have separate lists but not necessarily hostile”, tempers Julien Bayou, who, in the meantime, hopes “a common return” of the Nupes in the street, with a joint participation in the major social mobilizations which are announced.
