Last month, Brad Pitt arrived at the premiere of his new movie, Bullet Train, wearing an outfit with a twist: a skirt. In Pitt’s “legendary” roles he played hypermasculine men, such as in the films “Fight Club” and “There was a time in Hollywood. What’s more, in the western world until today there was a clear separation – skirts for women and pants for men. In recent years, the “neutral” clothing has begun to gain momentum, as a result of conversations being conducted around the world around gender and identity.

The conversations about gender and identity sparked a collective soul-searching about what it means to dress like a man. Generation Z and young millennial stars like Harry Styles regularly incorporate elements of femininity into their wardrobes. Following the celebrities, online stores, such as ASOS for example, now stock “men’s skirts”.
