He has expressed his love for Malayalam movies many times. Ranjith, who came to Kerala to promote his new film Nachatthiram Nagargirat, also talked about Malayalam films.

“I am interested in movies with a communist background. My favorite movie is ‘Pada’. I like it because of its very simple theme. It is a movie that talks about the ground. Pata has been taken without any compromise in politics. Honesty is spread throughout the movie. Kammatipad and Ee Ma Yau are all favorite movies.” Pa. Ranjith said.
Kalidas Jayaram is the hero of Nachatthiram Nagargirath. Dushara Vijayan is the heroine. Kalaiyarasan and Shabir who played the role of Dancing Rose in the Sarpatta series are also in the cast.
