Ganesha Chaturthi; Method for dissolving idols

Chennai: All over Tamil Nadu, Vinayagar Chaturthi is going to be celebrated on 31st.

All arrangements for this are going on in full swing.

In this situation, the Pollution Control Board has issued guidelines for dissolving Ganesha idols in water bodies. In that, only Ganesha idols made of clay are allowed to be dissolved in water bodies.

It has been reported that Ganesha idols made of environmentally friendly raw materials will be allowed to be dissolved in water bodies in a safe manner.

It is advised to use natural resin of dried flowers, straw and trees for making ornaments of idols.

Single-use items made of Thermocol should not be allowed. The Pollution Control Board has categorically stated that synthetic chemical colors should not be used to paint idols.

Meanwhile, permission has been given to dissolve idols only in Kasimedu, Pattinappakkam, Elliott’s Beach and Thiruvanmiyur in Chennai.

Also, 20,000 security guards are going to be deployed in Chennai city on the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi.
