Man infected with corona, monkey pox and HIV after a short holiday – Joop

An Italian man became infected with corona, monkey pox and HIV during a five-day holiday. It is the first time that all three diseases have been diagnosed in anyone. Researchers have published their findings in the scientific journal Journal of Infection.

RTL Nieuws reports that the man briefly stayed in Spain, where he had unprotected sex with men. Shortly after returning home, he tested positive for corona after complaints. Not much later there was a serious skin rash, which turned out to be monkey pox after an examination. Further investigation revealed that the man also had HIV. That infection is also recent, as a recent HIV test was still negative.
