Lhe verdict is in. And the European campaign of French clubs looks promising this season. Member of group H, Paris Saint-Germain (hat 1) will face Juventus Turin (hat 2) – a first –, Benfica Lisbon (hat 3) and Maccabi Haifa (hat 4). For its return to the Champions League, Olympique de Marseille (hat 4) inherited a rather favorable draw with a balanced group made up of Frankfurt (hat 1), Tottenham (hat 2) and Sporting Portugal ( hat 3). The two tricolor clubs have thus avoided the group of death (group C) which will see Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona and Inter Milan compete. The first posters will take place on September 6 and 7. One of the two French clubs may have the chance to return to Istanbul on June 10, where the final will be held at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium.

As every year, the 32 qualified for the most prestigious of European competitions were divided into four hats of eight teams. Champion of France 2022, Paris Saint-Germain was part of the first group alongside Real Madrid, winner of the last C1, Eintracht Frankfurt, winner of the Europa League, and Manchester City, AC Milan, the Bayern Munich, FC Porto and Ajax Amsterdam, respectively champions of England, Italy, Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands. On the other hand, placed in the fourth hat because of its low UEFA index, the Marseille club was exposed to strong opponents. To dream of extending their European dream, OM will however have to do better than the three small points snatched during the group stages two years ago.
