Top chef opens café on campus

A campus where a lot has happened. In addition to many renovations and additions, “dasKUYO” also opened right on time for the start of the semester: a new café right in the JKU Learning Center.

Behind it is Manuel Grabner, he is one of the best chefs in Austria. His Restaurant Holzpoldl in Lichtenberg has already received numerous awards, including four toques in the Gault Millau local guide. “DasKUYO” now attracts with culinary delicacies à la Holzpoldl, a varied breakfast menu and coffee.

“A university is not just about imparting knowledge. Personal contact is central to our educational mission,” says Rector Meinhard Lukas. “Students must have the opportunity to arrive on campus – not just spatially, but above all socially.”

All university members received a free coffee to get to know each other. The café is open Monday through Friday from 7.30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
