Kerala Blasters progressed in the Ramco Kerala Women’s League by defeating Don Bosco Football Academy, who were first in the points table, by five goals. The team topped the table with 10 points from four games with three wins and one draw. Apurna Narsari hit a hat-trick for Blasters in the game at Maharaja’s College Ground, Ernakulam. Blasters took the lead through Apurna’s beautiful goal in the fifth minute of the game. Don Bosco’s volley from outside the box was beyond the reach of the goalkeeper. That shot smashed the net. Captain Priyanka Devi created the opportunity for this goal.

In the 18th minute, Blasters made it two goals. Kiran’s smashing free kick from right in front of the box went past the Don Bosco goalkeeper and into the net. The third goal came in the 27th minute. Malvika sent the ball from the right side and Priyanka shot it towards the goal. Apurna hits it into the net. Apurna’s second goal in the match.
Apurna completed the hat-trick with another long-range shot with three minutes left in the first half. Apurna’s goal came after a push with Sunita Munda. Within two minutes, Blasters made it five goals. This time it was Sunita who shook the net. Sunitha entered the box with the ball given by Kiran and found the target with ease. The first half ended with a score of 5-0.
The match was under the control of Blasters in the second half as well. However, with Don Bosco’s defense tightening up, Blasters were unable to enter the box as easily as in the first half. Blasters’ next match is against Kadthanad Raja FA on September 2. The venue is Kozhikode.
