Surat: The family has filed a complaint against his girlfriend in the incident of a young man’s suicide in Gujarat’s Surat. Rahul Singh (27), a native of Uttar Pradesh, committed suicide because his girlfriend forced him to eat beef, according to the complaint filed by the young man’s mother, Veena Devi. Amma also said that Rahul had shared a Facebook post clarifying this. Rahul Singh was found hanging dead at his house in Uddna Patel Nagar on June 27.
Rahul was in love with a girl named Sonam Ali. Both lived together. Meanwhile, the family alleges that Sonam and her brother Mukhtar Ali forced Rahul to eat beef and it made him mentally weak. The national media reported that the suicide note threatened to kill him if he did not eat beef.
Rahul came to Surat for work. My mother and sister were brought here. It was during this time that Sonam fell in love with Ali. The marriage was opposed because they were believers of other religions. With this, Rahul started living together with Sonam. Rahul was not in touch with the family after that. Mother and sister came to know about Rahul’s death when a relative called and told them about Rahul’s suicide note on Facebook. Police have registered a case against Sonam and her brother in the incident.
