Two Malayalam players in the Indian team participating in the Asian Softball Championship in Shimanto, Japan. PP Ajmal (29) from Kozhikode and Riju V Reji (22) from Pathanamthitta will wear the Indian jersey in the Under-23 Championship which will be held on September 3rd to 6th.
Ajmal is the son of Ashraf-Mehjabi couple in Aham Kunivayal AH House, Kozhikode. Ajmal, who joined the postal department last year, is currently an employee of Tamil Nadu Erode RMAC. Riju, who was selected for the under-23 team, is the son of Reggie George and Eliamma Reggie of Kaipattur Vallikote, Pathanamthitta. He is a PG student in Catholic College.
