Death toll from floods in Pakistan exceeds 1,000. 119 people died in the last 24 hours.

Due to heavy rains since July 14, southern and southwestern parts of Pakistan have been hit by floods.

In a statement released by the National Disaster Management Authority on Sunday, 119 people have died in the last 24 hours due to heavy rains in some parts of the country. So far, 1,033 people have died in the war. A total of 1,527 were reported to have been injured.

3,451 km due to flooding due to heavy rains. Roads, 147 bridges, 170 shops and more than 9 lakh residences have been affected.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited flood-affected areas in Balochistan and Sindh provinces. He assured that all the victims will be resettled and relief measures will be taken.

Foreign Aid: Pakistan has not taken enough steps to deal with this crisis. It expects the help of foreign countries.

The United States has decided to donate 16 million dollars and Britain 15 million pounds to help relief efforts. Islamic countries like United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Iran have also promised to provide necessary assistance to Pakistan on humanitarian basis.

UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered relief aid to Pakistan, the country’s news agency reported.

The UAE’s relief aid includes 3,000 tonnes of food items, medical supplies and other essential items.
