Idukki: Landslide In Thodupuzha: The death toll in the Thodupuzha Kudayathur landslide has risen to three. The landslide occurred this morning. Soman’s house was swept away by the landslide. The bodies of Soman’s mother Thangamma and her grandson were found first. The third body recovered has not been identified.

Now two more people are underground. Two dead bodies were found below the house. The police, fire force and locals are continuing the rescue operation. Revenue department is also there. Soman, mother Thankamma, wife Shiji, daughter Nima and Nima’s son were buried under the ground. NDRF team will come for search. The team has returned to the scene.

Minister Roshi Augustine has stated that they will check whether there is a situation where people in the area need to be relocated in connection with the incident. District Superintendent of Police is present in the area. The Minister said that all necessary measures for rescue operations are being intensified. There was heavy rain in the area last night. The landslide occurred around four in the morning. Efforts to remove soil using JCB are ongoing. Now that the rain has stopped, it has helped the rescue operation.
