European foreign ministers, who are due to meet on Tuesday and Wednesday in Prague, will consider a total suspension of the 2007 agreement between Moscow and the EU providing for facilities for the issuance of short-stay visas to Russian nationals, indicated a European diplomat on Monday.

The Czech Republic, which occupies the rotating presidency of the EU, hopes for an agreement of the Twenty-Seven to implement by October this suspension demanded by Finland, according to the same source. After the invasion of Ukraine, the EU had suspended this agreement for certain categories linked to the regime, but kyiv would like the Europeans to completely close the door to Russian tourists.
